FAQ - Students

  • Are classes just for women?

    Absolutely not! We welcome all people regardless of gender. The joy of dance is for everyone and we encourage everyone to start dancing. SSDC is committed to acceptance and support, the only thing that will be turned away is hate.

  • Are there any restrictions you have on who can take a class?

    The only restriction is we generally only allow students 13 years or older. This has more to do with body coordination and focus than anything else. We are currently looking in to starting a Young Dancer Movement class, that accepts students from 8-12 years of age. This provides a way for young dancers to dip their toes in without the stress of more advanced classes.

  • For the FCBD®Style courses, do I have make it to every class, or can I skip one?

    For the FCBD®Style courses, they build on the previous week’s lesson, and missing a class means you will miss some vocabulary, so you definitely need to make an effort to make it to every class. You cannot get your Level completion certification if you miss a class. That being said, we 100% understand life happens, so if there is a reason you have to miss, let us know and we help you make up the class.

  • How will I know when new classes are available?

    We have a newsletter for all those who want to heed the call. Either fill out the newsletter email at the bottom of the page or head over to the class schedule page and fill out the waiting list form. We will send out an email notification when new classes are available before we post them publicly, so those with the newsletter will have the first chance of signing up, as there is a class cap for cert courses. We will only send out class/event info, and will never spam or sell your info.

FAQ - Performances

  • Can I hire you for a party or event?

    Yes! We are available for event entertainment. However, we do not accept all requests. Bachelor parties (or similar events) will be immediately rejected. If you would like to inquire about future availabilities, you can either fill out the contact form or email book@siyrrenssong.dance.

  • Do you perform at Weddings?

    We love being part of your special day and are honored to entertain your friends and family. As we know exactly how stressful planning a wedding can be, we will be happy to work with you to make sure the performance matches with your theme and expectations.

  • Are you available to perform at public events, like street fairs?

    There are few things we love more then getting a chance to perform for the community! Whether on stage or in the crowd, we love performing at neighborhood or city events! If you are an organizer looking to bring something different and engaging to your event, we encourage you to email us at book@siyrrenssong.dance.

  • If I book you, do I get to choose your music?

    When we are booked for an event/party/etc. we will discuss music. If desired, we can provide a set of music, and you can choose from the songs. If you have specific music or one specific song you want us to perform to, we definitely listen to all songs and provide feed back. Most of the time, we can accommodate other songs. However, there are some songs that just aren't good to dance to, and if it would be detrimental to the performance, we may offer some alternatives.

  • Do you do business partnerships for one time or regular performances?

    We have partnered and performed at restaurants, hookah lounges, and more. We're always open to partnering with businesses to provide unique entertainment and enhance your atmosphere. Please fill out the request at the link below for details.
